About me

I grew up in Dublin and spent time in several cities across Europe, before ending up in Shanghai, China in 2011 where I live now. For much of my career I have been helping governments, property developers, and local communities to create places that enhance the quality of urban and rural life. I've always had a keen interest in cities, geography and understanding spatial and cultural relationships. I have always enjoyed exploring new places and landscapes, meeting new people along the way and learning about their customs and daily life. I have been fortunate enough to spend time working and studying in several European cities such as Vienna, Berlin and Barcelona, in addition to my extended time living in Shanghai.

This blog is also informed by my academic years spent at UCD where I studied Geography and German; and KU Leuven, where I studied urbanism and strategic planning.
